Jamie Reynolds (Klaxons)

London based Artist, Songwriter, Record Collector and DJ Jamie Reynolds is best known for being the founding member and co-singer of 00s band Klaxons.

Jamie was too young to attend when his life long journey as a music obsessive started while watching the 90s rave Fantazia from a hillside in his hometown.

The myth that Bournemouth had more nightclubs per square mile than London at that time only encouraged him to host and DJ at his own club nights with friends at young age. His first lessons in reading the dance floor were driven by his eclectic taste in music that saw him to play records from Can, Kratwerk and every Electroclash 12” that landed in the Record Shop he worked in at that time.

His quest for further musical knowledge inspired him to move to London in the early 00s where he landed bang in the middle of the thriving New Cross music scene.

At that time he was heavily influenced by the eclecticism of Trash’s Erol Alkan, Optimo, DFA Records and 2 Many DJs and as a DJ himself, Jamie created his own wide ranging sets as he hosted club nights in South London.

What came next as Klaxons is well documented. From the perspective of his DJing is remembered fondly via clubs and festivals worldwide and maybe best revisited through the two sided mix Jamie curated for Bugged Out which highlighted his taste for both home listening and his focus on the dance floor.

Years later things aren’t that different as Jamie has recently played at All Points East festival for BBC Radio 6 and has been found DJing at both London’s Lost and Try Outs. He currently hosts and DJs at East London’s Fuzz (which he co-founded with FC Kahuna) alongside guests such as Logan Fischer, Justin Robertson, Alice Palace, Richard Sen, Rosie Ama and Danny Psychemagik.

“I’m as happy playing a seven hour vinyl marathon of rarities at a listening bar as I am playing main room bangers for a festival set. It’s all about reading the crowd”

Jamie is currently a resident DJ at London’s Soho Mews House, Pyro, Hidden Grooves and Fuzz. He’s due to host room 2 as Bugged Out Weekender returns in March 2026.
