Friendly Fires

Friendly Fires are an English indie-dance trio from St Albans, Hertfordshire, formed in 2006 by school friends Ed MacFarlane, Edd Gibson and Jack Savidge. They blend anthemic indie rock with shimmering synths, house rhythms and dance floor energy, creating a sound that bridges alternative rock and electronic pop.

Their self-titled debut album Friendly Fires introduced hits like Jump In The Pool and Paris, earning critical acclaim and establishing their reputation for euphoric melodies and kinetic grooves. Pala followed in 2011, expanding their sonic palette with tropical rhythms and expansive pop arrangements. After an extended break, they returned with Inflorescent in 2019, a vibrant record that leaned further into dance and house influences while affirming their distinctive blend of indie and club culture.

Across three albums and a celebrated live presence, Friendly Fires have become known for infectious energy, genre-defying production and an ability to unite indie rock spirit with electronic exuberance.
